Hi there, my name is
FireFlii. Welcome to my baby shower game page. I have helped
give a few baby showers in my time...and everytime I did, I had
to search for games. I decided to do this page and make it a
lot easier for everyone that comes here (including me) to find
a comprehensive list of many different shower games. Please,
if you have any to add, email me here
and send them to me. I will give you credit if you wish where
I list the game. I am always happy to put more on this page.

Now, off to your baby
shower and ENJOY!
1. Tray Game - This is a simple...but fun.. game that most
of us have probably played at one time or another. Place 9-10
items on a tray and pass it around the room so that everyone
gets a chance to see the items. Take the tray away once everyone
has seen it and then give everyone a piece of paper and a pencil
to write with. Have them write down what they remember was on
the tray and the one who remembers the most wins a door prize.
Depending on the party you would use things pertaining to the
theme as in: Baby Shower- powder, safety pins, diaper, nail trimmers,
chew toys, etc.
2. Guess the Baby Food -Buy 10 jars of strained baby food (pears, dutch
apple, green beans, peas, carrots, squash, beets, etc). Write
a number with a permanent black marker or something similar on
top of the jar. Write the corresponding numbers on a sheet of
paper and next to the number on the paper be sure you write the
name of the baby food! Now you take the labels off the jars and
have the guests try to guess what they are (NO tasting!). Because
so many baby foods are similar in color, you can have a lot of
fun with this. Pass them around and give them a paper numbered
1 to 10 to write their guess on. You can use a box or something
similar to place the baby food in...but a really good idea is
to buy a baby food caddy (available at most stores where you
find baby items) and use it to hold the jars. It makes a great
gift for the expectant mom when the shower is over.
3. Baby Paper Doll
- Give each guest a piece of paper and have them tear the shape
of a baby out of the paper. Give all the paper babies to the
mom-to-be and have her pick her favorite. The person that tore
that one out is the winner. (Don't worry, none of the paper babies
will look anything alike!)
4. Balloon Belly
- Because the star guest is usually the only one who is big (pregnant),
give each one of the guests 2 minutes to try to stuff as many
blown up balloons under their shirt as they could to see how
big (pregnant) the star guest is. The person with the most balloons
under their shirt wins.
5. Guess the Baby Animal Name - Write 15-20 animal names on a sheet of paper
and make enough copies for each guest. Have the guests write
the name of the animals baby after the animal's name in 3 minutes.
The one that gets the most wins the prize. Here is a sample list.
There are a lot more, so be inventive:
Goose - GOSLING
Deer - FAWN

6. The Clothespin Game - Give each guest a clothespin when they arrive
and explain the rule to them. If you say baby, or cross your
legs or arms, someone who hears or sees you gets your clothespin.
At the end of the shower, the person with the most clothespins
is the winner.
7. Tear the TP to fit Mommy's Belly - Pass around a row of toilet paper and have each
guest tear off a piece that they think will wrap all the way
around mom-to-be's belly. Have the mother-to be wrap each piece
around her belly and tear off the extra and give it to the guest
that it belongs to (the piece MUST fit all the around to be eligible).
The guest with the shortest torn-off piece wins this game (the
closest to an exact fit).
8. Panty Hose Golf :) - For this game you will need panty hose, any size,
or variety of colors (it doesn't matter). Each player individually
starts at one side of the room with a pair of panty hose tied
around their waist. The legs are filled with one small potato
each and hung low enough to just scrape the floor. A ping pong
or golf ball is laid on the floor, one foot in front of each
player & the hip motion of moving the ball across the room
begins (by swinging the potato in the foot of the panty hose
and hitting the ball)! The game is a timed event & certainly
a barrel of laughs!

9. The top 20 things you find in a baby's
room. - You get all the people
attending the shower to write down as many things they would
find in a baby's room (newborn) in 1 minute. The player with
the most wins.
10. BABY SHOWER.
- Write down as many words as you can make from the words "Baby
Shower". The words have to be 3 or more letters. They have
a minute to come up with their list. The player with the most
words wins.
11. Guess the Baby Word - You write down different things related to a
baby and tape it to each person's back as they enter the room.
Noone knows what is taped to their back but they have to guess
it. They can only ask "no" or "yes" questions.
The person they ask questions to can not offer any additional
information related to the word on their back. No prize for this
game, but it sure is fun playing.
12. Finger Test
- You take a bowl full of instant rice, not cooked, and put mini
safety pins in it and have a person blind folded sitting in front
of the bowl trying to sort out the pins. You have 1 minute to
do this and the one with the most pins wins one of the door prizes.
Please keep the pins closed. This game is difficult because you
almost can't tell the items apart.
13. Fishin' for Cotton - You fill a bowl full of cotton balls and again
blind fold the person and have them scoop with a wooden or metal
spoon the cotton balls into a dish that is about 3-5 inches away
from the ones with the balls in them. The person who gets the
most in the bowl wins a door prize. (There is another variation
of this below.)
14. Dirty Diaper
- You take paper napkins and fold them up like baby diapers and
use mini safety pins to close them. You then select one of the
diapers and put brown mustard in the bottom of the diaper. The
person who chooses the "Dirty Diaper" wins a prize.
15. I've Never.- The
hostess buys a piggy bank, and asks all the guests to bring a
handful of loose change. All the guests sit in a circle, passing
the piggy bank. Each guest states something they have never done
starting with the phrase "I've never...........". For
example, flown in an airplane, pierced my ears, mowed the lawn.
Anyone in the group who has done what you have never done must
put change in the piggy bank. By the end of the game the piggy
bank is jingling with change for the baby.
16. Good Advice?
- Pass around paper to everyone and had them write down advice
about the new baby for the Mom to be. Seal it in an envelope
and instruct Mom to read it at the hospital after the baby is
born.
17. Watermelon Baby - I just had to share with you the greatest baby
shower idea that my mother did for us.
We
broke up into teams of 5 and she gave each team a watermelon!
We had to transform that watermelon into what we thought our
new edition would look like. Mom had piles of yarn, diapers,
baby cloths, markers to draw faces, etc. It was a riot watching
everyone try to dress a watermelon. Then the finished babies
were great (thank goodness our baby didn't end up looking like
them!) If you want to give a prize for this have everyone vote
for their favorite.
18. "My Water Broke!" First, you buy those little plastic babies (you
can find them at party stores) Next, you freeze them in icecube
trays overnight. Then, as each guest arrives, they get a paper
cup and a frozen baby cube. THE WINNER: THE FIRST PERSON WHO'S
BABY IS 'BORN' (ICE MELTS AND BABY IS LEFT IN POOL OF WATER)
MUST YELL OUT "MY WATER BROKE!"...AND THEY ARE DECLARED
THE WINNER! This is a good game because other games can be played
while people wait for their baby to be 'born'.
19. "Nursery Rhyme Game & More" You get 4 minutes for this one. Try to guess
the nursery rhyme depicted. Answers below.

are up, everyone gets 2 copies of the same number, one goes with
the sculpture on a tray to be judged and one goes to the sculptor
to claim your prize if you win. Everyone votes on the one that
looks most like a baby and the one that looks least like a baby.
21. Baby Parts
- Each statements listed below represents some part of a baby.
See how many you can identify. Make copies of this and give the

22. Baby
Questions - Pass out note cards
and pencils to each attendee. Each person writes a common baby
question such as "What do you do when a baby cries?"
or "How do you get a baby to sleep through the night?"
Then collect the cards and redistribute them face down (so you
cannot see the question) and have each attendee write the answer
to their initial question on the blank side. Then read the cards
and get ready to laugh! For example, the phrase on the backside
of the card with the "What do you do when a baby cries?"
could be "Shake it up and down until it's ready."
23. Baby Word Scramble - Pick 10 or so words related to babies and scramble
the letters. Photocopy the scrambled words on a sheet of paper
for each party attendee. Give a time of about 5 minutes for each
person to try to unscramble the words. Here is a sample of 20
words to get you started (some easy, some hard).

24. Guess the Number of Jelly Beans
in the Baby Bottle Game - Fill
a baby bottle with little jellybeans (or other small candy).
Show the attendees the baby bottle and have them guess how many
beans are in the baby bottle. How about picking the mom's favorite
small candy to use to fill? Another variation is using baby pins
instead of candy in the guessing game for your party.

25. Baby Bottle Bowling Game - Line up empty baby bottles on the floor. Use
a small, soft ball. Have each player take one turn to bowl down
the bottles. The one who knocks down the most bottles wins!
26. Cotton Ball Transfer - Pass around a jar of Vaseline and tell everyone
to take as much as he/she needs. When everyone has some on his/her
finger, tell them to cover their nose with it! The objective
if the game is to get as many cotton balls from a big bowl to
the floor in 60 seconds only using the Vaseline covered nose.
The attendee with the most balls on the floor wins (balls on
the nose do not count) Hint: To get the balls off the nose, shake
your head or blow on the balls. Most likely, laughing will not
make them come off!
27. Mom-to-be Trivia Game - Compile a list of about 20 questions about the
mom-to-be to ask the attendees to see who knows her the most.
The attendee with the most correct answers wins. You might be
surprised who wins! Sample questions include the following:
What names does she have picked for the baby?
Does she hope for a boy, girl or either?
What
is the color of her eyes?
What are the colors
she has picked for the nursery?
What is she wearing
today?
What is her favorite children's character
(Pooh, Bart Simpson, etc.)?
Has she had any crazy
food cravings and if so, what was it?
28. Hot Teddy
- Toss around a stuffed bear/toy. Whoever has the bear has to
list one thing that you need for a baby. The only catch is that
nothing can be listed more than once. If you repeat an item,
you're out. By the end of the game people are really scratching
their heads to come up with something interesting!
29. What's Wrong with Baby? - Divided guests into groups of five... Each group
received a Diaper bag (grocery bag) filled with a full 8oz bottle,
a Depends Diaper, washcloth, blanket, crackers and toy. Each
member of the group picks a number to determine who is the "baby",
the baby was then given a problem... each of the other members
of the group had to figure out what the problem was... (if thirsty
the bottle had to be drained, if dirty the diaper on (over pants
of course) etc) The group that determined the problem each won
a prize!... WE LAUGHED AND LAUGHED!!! Even the biggest stick
in the mud's participated.
30. Safety Tips - This
starts when you send out invitations. Put a note in with the
invitation that each guest that brings a safety tip for the mother-to-be
(example: install plastic covers on open outlets) gets their
name placed in a drawing for a gift at the end of the shower.
Be sure and have them read the tip they brought.
31. It's Also a Name - Below are listed 10 definitions under "Girls"
and 10 under "Boys". Each answer is also a proper name.

8. A statement for money owed (Bill)
9. To allow a privilege (Grant)
10. A small whirlpool (Eddy)
32. When you were born (not quite a
game but...) - Here's a baby shower
idea, have the guests create a remember when book! Within each
invitation send a questionnaire with information including tidbits
like where they work, what they like to do, funny things their
children do, current events, favorite colors, favorite movies
and music, etc. Make sure they include a special welcome to the
world for the new baby. This is really a double gift, because
it can either become part of a family history album or baby book
to be given to the child later on in life.
33. The Price is Right. - The hostess of the shower purchases various items
needed for the new baby and listed them on a sheet of paper with
blank lines next to them. Then display the gifts in their original
packaging on a table. Each guest receives a blank price sheet
and has to guess the price. Compare individual totals to the
actual total cost of the items to see who comes closest and who
is the farthest. The "winner" receives a nice prize
and the "loser" received a bottle of Barbie bubble
bath. The new Mom gets the goodies.
34. "Rolling Pin Game" - Hello, this is an idea we used for my sisters
baby shower. Its lots of fun and a good ice breaker to get the
party going!
Have guests stand and form a circle. You
need a rolling pin 10-12 inches, chose a starting point, guests
must place the rolling pin between their legs held by the knees,
then to the sound of music (the faster the better) they must
then pass the pin to the person next to them without hands! When
the music stops the person with the pin is eliminated, game continues
until only 1 person remains (winner). Lots of laughter guaranteed.

35. FUN! FUN! FUN!
- YOU WILL NEED
1 PAIR GLOVES LARGE GARDEN OR WORK TYPE
1 PAIR OF LADIES SILKY PANTY HOSE
1 BINDFOLD OR A LARGE BANDANA
TIE ON THE BLINDFOLD OVER PARTICPANTS EYES
HAVE THEM PUT ON THE GLOVES ,THEN HAND THEM THE PANTY HOSE.
THE OBJECT OF THE GAME IS TO PUT ON THE
PANTY HOSE. IF THEY GET THE PANTY HOSE ON GIVE A SMALL GIFT.
IT IS THE FUNNIEST GAME YOU WILL EVER PLAY..YOU
CAN'T FEEL THE PANTY HOSE THROUGH THE GLOVES.
IT IS RARE FOR ANY ONE TO GET THE PANTY
HOSE ON....BUT OCASSIONALLY SOMEONE DOES.
36. Identify the ....What! - Squish up several different kinds of unusual
candy bars and place each one in a diaper. (The idea is that
it looks like baby poopies!) The winner is the person who can
identify (without tasting) the most candy bars. A great decoration/gift
is a miniature clothesline with newborn t-shirts, socks, and
other
basics clothes-pinned to the line for the new Mom to bring home.

37. Fabric Paint
- Buy some onesies and fabric paint. Have the attendees of the
shower pair up and each decorate a onesie with the paint. Then,
judge the most creative one and give a gift to the winners. The
mother/mother-to-be then takes the onesies home to use on the
baby.
38. The Most Fun at a Baby Shower! - Well, at my mom's baby shower, there was this
very, very, funny lady who knocked at the door, while the shower
was going on. She came in and was all dressed up like a crazy
doctor. She said she had come to deliver the baby. That it was
time. She told my mom to lie down in this chaise
lounge chair and covered her up with a large sheet. She put her
head under the sheet and began to make all kinds of sounds and
funny statements. She had a medical bag and took out things-
like that made disgusting sounds; ex, it sounded like my mom
was passing gas, something else made a sound like my moms water
broke and water was running, etc. It was SO SO funny. Everyone
laughed so hard! At the end, the "Doc" pulled out a
baby doll from under the sheet and presented it to my mom. What
a great and entertaining idea for a shower! It sounds so much
fun!

39. "Baby Bingo" Here's my idea for a baby shower game. We played
it a few times and it sure is fun. Baby BINGO. Make your own
bingo cards. Instead of numbers in each square put a baby-related
word. Examples include: crib, bassinet, sheets, diaper, diaper
pin, milk, bouncer, onesies, etc. The "caller" calls
out items and the first person to have BINGO wins.

40. "Brown Bag It" - Get brown bags and mark one letter spelling
BABY SHOWER for each bag. You can then fill each bag with an
item which could or could not be related to a baby or pregnancy.
For example:
B - Bib
A - Apple
B - Bottle
Y - Yoyo
Guests will then guess what items are in
each bag and whoever guesses the most, wins.

41. Relative Puzzles - Blow up photocopies of mum/dad (and any brothers,
sisters) then cut them up into features...like noses, eyes..
put them in a container in the middle of the table. Give the
guests paper and pen, get them to draw a blank baby face with
no features. They get to say what they think the baby should
look like by pasting the cut out features onto the face.. Just
for variety, include pictures of grandma, grandpa, aunts, uncles..
even the family dog if you think it will go down ok. Not only
will this be a laugh for the shower, but mum and dad can have
fun going through them later when the baby has been born.
42. "Ducks In A Tub"
All ladies need to go potty and/or wash
their hands before lunch. Use this as one of the games. Fill
the tub a little ways up with water and put in small rubber ducky
toys to match the number of guests (I found some little 2"
ones at Kirklands - 3 for $2.99). Put a sign over the water telling
the guests to pluck a duck. Have all of the ducks have
some kind of marking or number on the bottom. After lunch or
at the end of the games (make sure everyone has a duck), draw
from a bowl to see who wins the prize. All guests can keep their
ducks as souvenirs. (be sure to mark the occassion on them somewhere).

43. Baby Questions - Pass out note cards and pencils to each attendee.
Each person writes a common baby question such as "What
do you do when a baby cries?" or "How do you get a
baby to sleep through the night?" Then collect the cards
and redistribute them face down (so you cannot see the question)
and have each attendee write the answer to their initial question
on the blank side. Then read the cards and get ready to laugh!
For example, the phrase on the backside of the card with the
"What do you do when a baby cries?" could be "Shake
it up and down until it's ready."
44. Embroidered Cloth Baby Diapers - Every baby needs spit up wipes. If your baby shower
attendees are handy with a needle, provide needles, embroidery
thread and clothe diapers. While siting around talking, everyone
embroiders one (or more) diapers. Ideas to embroider are the
baby's last name (or first name if known), flowers, blocks, bottles,
or just trim the edges. Mom-to-be will love these after the baby
is born.
45. Baby Pictures Guessing Game - Everyone brings a baby picture of him/herself.
The host/hostess displays
the numbered pictures. The baby shower attendee who guesses the
most correct wins! Great for coed parties. (Be sure to mention
in the baby shower invitation to bring a baby picture.)
46. Clothes Pin Grab - Two attendees to hold a long cord (meant to resemble
a clothesline), with numerous clothes pins attached. Everyone
has to try with ONE hand to get as many clothes pins off while
still holding them in your ONE hand. As soon as you drop one
you are out and that one does not count.
47. Baby Name Song Guess - Make a tape be made with short snippets of songs
(10-25 seconds in length) with names in the title. If the sex
of the baby is known, use names for that gender. Play the songs
and have people guess the name of the song and the artist. The
one with the most correct song titles and artists wins!
Examples of songs for a girl would include"
Cecilia "by Simon and Garfunkel," Mona Lisa "and"
Ramblin' Rose" by Nat King Cole, and "Lucy in the Sky
with Diamonds" by the Beatles, "Sara Smiles" by
Hall and Oats.
Examples of songs for a boy would include
"Fernando" by Ababa, "Hey Jude" by the Beatles,
"Thomas O'Malley Cat" form the Disney movie "Aristocats",
the James Bond Theme by Monty Norman Orchestra, and "Don't
Mess Around with Jim" by Jim Croce.
For baby of unknown gender, you could mix
some of each of the songs above. Or you could use songs with
the word "baby" in them.
48. Name Poem with Advice - If you already have a name picked out, have the
attendees make a poem with
the letters of the name. For example if the first letter is N
the tip could be "Never pull on daddy's mustache."
The next letter could be E and the tip could be "Eat all
your veggies"
49. Baby Crossword Puzzle - Create a crossword puzzle with baby related clues,
for example, the color
for a girl is #1 across. (Example will be here soon).
50. Pin the Bottle on the Baby - Make a picture of a baby and blow up the picture
to a larger size. Paste it on a decorated poster board. Then
make pictures of baby bottles, and leave space for the attendees'
names. Blind fold the attendees, spin them around, and the one
with the bottle closest to the babies mouth wins. You can also
play it where it's the hat closest to the baby's head or diaper
closest to the baby's bottom.
51. Baby Pool
- Everyone chips in $1 and guess what day the baby will be born,
what sex the baby will be (if unknown), what time the baby will
be born, the weight, and the height. Whoever comes closest wins
the kitty.
52. Mommy Shower
- If you've already had a shower with your first pregnancy then
you might consider this shower for your next pregnancy. Of you
have everything in order for baby how about a "Mommy Shower"?
The mom is whom we should be celebrating! The gifts can include:
bubble bath, massage oil, candles, potpourri, scented soap, her
favorite perfume, clothes for after the birth, nightgowns for
the hospital, certificates for pedicures, manicures, facials,
haircuts, etc You can even personalize a coupon book for free
babysitting, or even to cook for her one she is home from the
hospital. The ideas are endless!
53. Top 20 Things in a Baby's Room - Have all the attendees write down as many things
as possible that theywould find in a baby's room (newborn) in
1 minute. The attendee with the most wins.
54. coming soon
55. Seventh Gift
- It is stated that the seventh gift opened at a shower is the
next person to have a baby. Have a little prize made up and when
the mom-to-be is opening her gifts and she gets to the seventh
gift, read the card and see whom it comes from. When the person
is identified hand the prize to the "future mom-to-be"
and explain that they are now declared to be next to have a child.
This is really funny if the future 'mother-to-be' is a great
grandma!
56. Family Feud
- Prior to the game you must prepare at least five questions
related to babies and family - (Example: Name Top Five Most Popular
Nursery Rhymes). Put the answers on a colorful board. It must
be covered so that the teams will not see the answers. There
must be two teams playing (maximum of five members in each team)
and each team has to choose a leader. To start the game: the
leaders of each team will come up to the host (or whoever is
doing the game). The mother-to-be will pick the first card with
the question.
The host will read the question aloud. Whoever rings the bell
first will answer first. If TEAM A's given answer is on the board,
TEAM A will get 1 point. Now, the host will ask TEAM A if they
want to continue playing or pass
to the other team (which is TEAM B). If TEAM A chooses to continue
playing, they the host will ask the rest of the team with the
same question until they got all the answers on the board. Each
correct answer is given 1 point. It
there's 3 strikes (or mistake) within TEAM A, the other team,
which is TEAM B is given the chance to answer (and hopefully
it's the correct answer on the board). If TEAM B's answer is
correct they get the winning point (6 points). If not, TEAM A
wins first round. And so on and so forth. Whoever has the most
points wins.
57. NAME THAT TUNE
- Prior to the game, choose at least 8 to 10 nursery rhymes from
a tape or a cd. You can either divide the guests into teams or
individual. Provide everyone with a pen and paper to write on.
Now you can start the game by playing the first nursery rhyme
music. Just play the music like for 2 to 3 seconds. At the end
of the game, give all the answers and whoever has the most correct
answer wins.
58. Finale
- For the finale of the games, ask everyone to stand up and look
under their sits. Whoever found a ribbon under the sit wins.
This way, everyone's up on their feet again and ready to get
something to eat again or something.
59. "What's in your bag?" - Make cards with
phrases like "movie ticket stub", "red lipstick",
"safety pin", etc (things that the guests may carry
on them). Dump these cards into a hat, and have the Mother-to-be
pull them out one by one. The first guest to run up to the front
of the room holding the requested item wins a small prize.
60. Jelly Bean Test - Another fun game is the jelly bean tasting game.
Jelly Belly has neat gift packs of jelly beans that can be used
for this game. Guests are given 3-4 different types of jelly
beans and asked to figure out what flavors they are. The person
who is the most accurate wins!
61. "I'm Still Standing" - All the guests are asked to stand up. Then go
through a list of miscellaneous questions (Are you married? Did
you drive here? Do you like coffee? etc...). Those that cannot
answer "yes" to the questions must sit down. The last
person standing wins. This game is best played with a large group.
